experimental and numerical analysis of flange wrinkling of bimetal sheets in deep drawing process
Authors
abstract
in this paper, formation of wrinkling in bimetal deep drawing process has been investigated by the analytical, numerical and experimental methods. the effects of width of flange, fillet radii of matrix and punch, clearance of blank holder, contact conditions and relative thickness of two sheets on the number and height of wrinkle waves are studied. clearance and contact conditions have the greatest impact on the number of waves while only clearance has significant effects on the height of waves. increasing of the mandrel edge radius and relative thickness of tougher metal increase significantly the forming force. variation of holder’s clearance and matrix edge radius have a little effects on the punching force.

Numerical and Experimental Research of Deep Drawing Process
There are mainly two methods of deep drawing analysis; experimental and analytical/numerical. Experimental analysis can be useful in analyzing the process to determine the process parameters that produce a defect free product, and the analytical/numerical modeling can be used to model and analyze the process through all stages of deformation. This approach is less time consuming and more econom...
full textA CLOSED-FORM NON- LINEAR SOLUTION FOR PLASTIC FLANGE WRINKLING OF CIRCULAR PLATES IN DEEP DRAWING PROCESS
This paper deals with two-dimensional plane stress wrinkling model of a plastic annular plate. Based on energy method and the nonlinearity of strain-displacement law, a bifurcation function in polar coordinates is derived analytically. This technique leads to the critical conditions for the onset of the plastic wrinkling of flange during the deep drawing process. To find this solution, the Tres...

based on two-dimensional plane stress and bifurcation functional from hill's general theory in polar coordinate the critical condition for elastic wrinkling of the flange of a circular blank ( the wave number in the flange and wrinkled area) during the deep-drawing process are obtained analyticaly to improve the previous given results. in this analytical study, the elastic limitation of the mat...
full textExperimental and Numerical Investigation of Warm Deep Drawing Process of AA5052 Aluminum Alloy
Aluminum alloys have a high strength-to-weight ratio and proper anti-corrosion properties that are used in the automotive, shipbuilding and aerospace industries. The major problem with forming aluminum sheets is the low formability of aluminum sheets at room temperature. Therefore, in the present study, warm deep drawing (WDD) of AA5052-O aluminum alloy sheets with a thickness of 1mm was invest...

full textNumerical and Experimental Investigation of Deep Drawing Process in Square Section of Single-Layer and Two-Layer Sheet
Deep drawing of two-layer sheet is a suitable way to achieve product with a desired shape and desired properties in sheet metal forming technology. Control of deep drawing parameter such as thinning is the most important challenge in this process. The most difficult part of this challenge is differences in material properties and geometry of each layer. In this paper, numerical approach has bee...
